- Therapeutic Services – Provided for both children and non-offending family members in cases of substantiated abuse.
- Supervised Visitations – Assist the DFSC and the justice dept by overseeing supervised visits in the reunification process between children and their families.
- Darkness to Light – Is a child sexual abuse prevention program for adults, which educates parents on all accepts of sexual abuse prevention.
- Parents HELP – A comprehensive intervention program offering parenting information, education and resources to families in an effort to combat child abuse and family violence. This program also provides home visits and support for families.
Children’s Stabilization & Assessment Center
This was the first emergency children’s shelter in Cherokee County. This program provided a temporary shelter where OUR abused and neglected children could stay in a warm and safe environment, with their siblings, while the DFCS caseworker searched for a suitable long-term living arrangement for the children.
Unfortunately, this program has fallen victim to a change in the state government’s direction and priorities in caring for these kids, and also to the tough economic times. The shelter’s services have been suspended for the time being.
The Cherokee Child Advocacy Council, Inc. is a chartered council of Prevent Child Abuse Georgia.
The Anna Crawford Children’s Center is a member of Children’s Advocacy Centers of Georgia and the National Children’s Alliance.
